Josh Allen Named NFL’s Most Overrated Quarterback in Recent Poll
Josh Allen has been named the NFL’s most overrated quarterback in a recent ESPN poll, but he’s taking it in stride.
During an interview with Adam Schein on Sirius XM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio, Allen responded to the poll results. “My reaction is, I’m not upset that 11 players from other teams don’t like me. That’s their opinion, and I’m not fazed by it,” Allen said. “In fact, I see it as a sign that I’m doing things right if I’m not everyone’s favorite.”
Allen received 11 votes out of 103 total, with Tua Tagovailoa and Jalen Hurts each getting 10 votes. However, Allen expressed more frustration about not being included in these anonymous surveys. “I never get invited to participate in these polls, which is disappointing. I’d like to have a say and be part of these discussions,” he added. “Maybe I’ll get the link for the next one.”
Despite the overrated label, Allen was ranked fourth in a separate poll of quarterbacks by his peers, trailing only Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and Joe Burrow. He also finished fifth in MVP voting last season, with Jackson winning the award for the second time.
Allen was not only recognized as the most overrated quarterback but also voted as the best trash-talker, a title he embraced with humor. He received 27 votes, surpassing Baker Mayfield, who got 16 votes.
The Buffalo Bills, led by Allen, will kick off their season at home against the Arizona Cardinals on September 8.
