The Kentucky Wildcats finally received some positive news regarding the injuries of Lamont Butler and Jaxson Robinson.
On Friday, head coach Mark Pope provided an update ahead of Saturday’s matchup against No. 4 Alabama. He shared that both players are increasing their practice activities as they move closer to returning. Butler will participate in “modified” live action, while Robinson will focus on skill work.
“Lamont is going to get some live action today. I say live action, (I mean) modified live action,” Pope explained. “Jax is going to get some skill stuff today.”
Butler has been dealing with a lingering shoulder injury sustained during the win over Tennessee, while Robinson has been recovering from a wrist sprain suffered in practice before the South Carolina game.
Butler’s participation in live drills suggests a slim possibility he could play against Alabama, though a return next week—either Wednesday against Oklahoma or Saturday against Auburn—seems more realistic. Robinson’s timeline remains uncertain, but he is expected to be back no later than the SEC Tournament.
