In the 2024-2025 season, the Duke Blue Devils men’s basketball team amassed an impressive array of accolades, underscoring their dominance in collegiate basketball.
Freshman sensation Cooper Flagg headlined the honors, securing both the ACC Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year awards. He became only the fourth player in ACC history to achieve this dual recognition in the same season. Flagg also earned spots on the All-ACC First Team, ACC All-Rookie Team, and ACC All-Defensive Team. His exceptional performance included leading the team in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks.
Flagg’s prowess extended to national recognition, as he was named the Associated Press Men’s College Basketball Player of the Year, becoming only the fourth freshman to receive this honor. Additionally, he was awarded the prestigious John R. Wooden Award, further cementing his status as the nation’s top player.
Teammates Kon Knueppel and Khaman Maluach also garnered significant accolades. Knueppel was selected to the All-ACC Second Team and, along with Maluach, was named to the ACC All-Rookie Team. Maluach received All-ACC Honorable Mention recognition. Graduate guard Sion James earned a spot on the ACC All-Defensive Team.
In the ACC Tournament, Knueppel’s outstanding play earned him the MVP title, averaging 21 points per game and leading Duke to their 23rd ACC Tournament Championship. Maluach joined him on the All-Tournament First Team, while junior guard Tyrese Proctor secured a place on the All-Tournament Second Team.
Nationally, the trio of Flagg, Knueppel, and Maluach received NABC All-District honors, with Flagg and Knueppel on the First Team and Maluach on the Second Team. Head coach Jon Scheyer was named South Atlantic District Coach of the Year, reflecting his effective leadership throughout the season.
Additionally, former head coach Mike Krzyzewski was honored with the 2025 Naismith Outstanding Contributor to Men’s Basketball Award, recognizing his lifelong contributions to the sport.
These collective achievements highlight a season of excellence for the Duke Blue Devils, marked by individual brilliance and team success.
