The Cleveland Browns were officially eliminated from playoff contention after their Week 14 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, with four games remaining, the team is focused on finishing the season strong and preparing for 2025.
Tight end David Njoku’s availability for their Week 15 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs remains uncertain. After missing practice all week due to a hamstring injury, Njoku is listed as questionable. According to Adam Schefter, Njoku will test his readiness in a pregame workout before a decision is made. “A game-time decision,” a source said.
Njoku has been a key piece of Cleveland’s offense, receiving 13 targets in the loss to Pittsburgh and serving as one of the few bright spots in an otherwise inconsistent attack. Through 14 weeks, the Browns rank as the NFL’s seventh-lowest-scoring offense, with just 26 touchdowns this season.
Most of Cleveland’s offensive struggles occurred under Deshaun Watson, who averaged just 15.6 points per game as the starting quarterback. In comparison, since Jameis Winston took over six games ago, the offense has improved, averaging 20.5 points per game. If Watson’s pace had continued, the Browns would have been the league’s lowest-scoring offense by five points per game.
With nothing but pride and preparation for next season on the line, Njoku’s status could heavily influence Cleveland’s game plan against Kansas City. Whether he suits up or not, the Browns aim to finish the season on a positive note.
