The Cleveland Browns endured their third consecutive loss on Sunday, falling to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Adding to their struggles in an already disappointing season, the Browns also lost All-Pro running back Nick Chubb for the remainder of the year due to a broken foot.
Chubb had only recently returned to the lineup in Week 7 after recovering from multiple knee injuries sustained in 2023. Unfortunately, he now faces another grueling rehabilitation process.
The devastating news drew emotional reactions from his teammates, including star pass rusher Myles Garrett.
“It just goes from bad to worse, man. It really does,” Garrett said. “The man fights back from injury, works harder than anyone in the locker room, and keeps facing challenges like this. He’s a cornerstone of this team, just like myself and Denzel (Ward). It’s heartbreaking to see him go through this again.”
Running back Pierre Strong Jr. echoed the sentiment, reflecting on Chubb’s tireless work ethic.
“It’s just tough, man,” Strong said. “Every day, I see how hard he works—he works his (expletive) off. Excuse my language, but it’s true. He’s probably one of the hardest-working guys I’ve ever met. To see him constantly battling through adversity, it’s like—when is he going to catch a break?”
With Chubb’s contract set to expire in the offseason and his 29th birthday approaching at the end of the year, there’s a possibility he may have played his final game for the Browns.
