The Detroit Lions may need to adjust their offensive line for Sunday’s Week 16 matchup against the Chicago Bears.
Starting left guard Graham Glasgow is listed as questionable with a knee injury, potentially leaving the Lions without a key player against their division rival. If Glasgow is unable to play, the team could rely on Kayode Awosika or Christian Mahogany. Awosika, who has started seven career games including two this season, has been inactive since Week 12, while Mahogany has been active in his place. Head coach Dan Campbell expressed confidence in both players, noting, “We’re working Mahogany and Kayode on both sides, and (Michael) Niese has been getting reps at right guard. We’re comfortable with those options.”
Additionally, linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin has been ruled out, and defensive back Ifeatu Melifonwu is questionable as both recover from injured reserve. Defensive back Brian Branch is also questionable with a calf injury.
On Friday, Campbell provided updates, stating Reeves-Maybin is not expected to play, while Melifonwu’s status remains uncertain. “So much of this week has been about getting him back into rhythm,” Campbell said of Melifonwu. “He’s improving daily and will practice today. It’s great to see him back working at the position.”
