The Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals are set to face off in an AFC North matchup during Week 16. Browns cornerback Denzel Ward is preparing for an intense battle against Bengals star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase.

In their last meeting during Week 9, the Bengals secured a 21-14 victory in Cleveland. Ward recorded three solo tackles and two pass deflections, while Chase tallied five receptions for 55 yards and a touchdown. Now, both players are gearing up for a highly anticipated rematch.
Ward has a history of big plays against Chase. In 2021, he intercepted a goal-line pass intended for Chase and returned it 99 yards for a touchdown, contributing to the Browns’ dominant 41-16 win. Reflecting on that moment, Ward said, “That play is probably my favorite. It came at the perfect time and even helped lead to a big contract for me. Definitely No. 1 on my list.”
Despite the Browns’ struggles this season, sitting at 3-10, Ward remains motivated to perform against the Bengals’ top wideout.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun,” Ward said. “Our main goal is to get the win, and if that means shutting them down, so be it. That’s our approach.”
The Browns and Bengals will kick off their late-season showdown at 1 PM ET at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio.
