The New England Patriots haven’t played recently, but that hasn’t stopped former players from commenting on the NFL playoffs.
In yesterday’s AFC Championship Game, the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs delivered a thrilling matchup. The Chiefs edged out the Bills with a 32-29 victory, but the game featured several controversial officiating decisions.
One of the most debated calls occurred during a crucial fourth-down attempt by the Bills. Quarterback Josh Allen appeared to have reached the first-down marker, but the officials spotted him short. Despite a replay showing that Allen seemed to cross the line to gain, the ruling stood after review.
Following the game, former Patriots Super Bowl champion Benjamin Watson criticized the decision. Sharing his thoughts on X, he wrote, “Incredible game. That awful spot by the officials was inexcusable, but these two teams played like champions. Chiefs are in a class by themselves. They find a way every year. Unflappable.”
