The Boston Red Sox have seen enough of Kristian Campbell to know they want to keep him long-term.
The team and Campbell have agreed to an eight-year, $60 million contract, which could reach $100 million over 10 years if the Red Sox exercise two club options. The 22-year-old second baseman’s contract details were shared by Red Sox reporter Jen McCaffrey, outlining his annual salary:
2025: $1M
2026: $2M
2027: $3M
2028: $4M
2029: $6M
2030: $9M
2031: $13M
2032: $16M
2034: $19M club option ($4M buyout)
2035: $21M club option
The guaranteed $60 million includes his yearly earnings from 2025 to 2032, plus a $4 million buyout and a $2 million signing bonus. That’s a significant deal for a player who has only appeared in five MLB games.
Campbell, a fourth-round pick from Georgia Tech in 2023, quickly rose through the minor leagues and started the 2025 season with the Red Sox. He has made an immediate impact, going 6-for-16 (.375) with two doubles, a home run, and four RBIs while drawing four walks and striking out five times.
