RIP: Former NFL star Allen Aldridge Jr. dead at 52….
Allen Aldridge Jr., a former NFL linebacker and long snapper who spent eight seasons with two teams, has passed away at 52.
Aldridge, originally from Houston, Texas, passed away Sunday evening, though no cause of death has been disclosed yet.
He was a starter on the 1997 Denver Broncos team that triumphed over the Green Bay Packers to claim victory in Super Bowl XXXII.
During that season’s AFC Championship game, Aldridge made a crucial interception against Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kordell Stewart in the third quarter, helping Denver secure a narrow three-point win.
In a 2019 interview with the Houston Chronicle, Aldridge reflected on that Super Bowl season, saying, “All your dreams were answered.”
