With the 2024 college football regular season complete, players nationwide are beginning to announce their transfer portal plans, including Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Rara Thomas, who has entered the portal. Thomas joined Georgia in 2023 after transferring from Mississippi State, where he showcased his potential. During his lone season with the Bulldogs, he recorded 23 receptions for 383 yards and a touchdown.
However, Thomas’s time at Georgia was derailed by off-field issues. On July 26, 2024, he was arrested on three counts of Cruelty to Children in the 2nd Degree and three counts of Battery – Family Violence (FV). Following the incident, he was indefinitely suspended and did not participate in the 2024 season.
Thomas is among several Bulldogs entering the transfer portal as the first window, open from Dec. 9 to Dec. 28, begins. Other Georgia players in the portal include:
Julian Humphrey (DB)
Michael Jackson III (WR)
Jamaal Jarrett (DL)
Justyn Rhett (DB)
Sam M’Pemba (Edge)
Jake Pope (S)
Troy Bowles (LB)
Georgia has been active in utilizing the transfer portal in recent years, balancing departures with key acquisitions. The portal will also reopen in late April for another window.
